Bursaries

Bursaries at Weengushk Film Institute (WFI) are an essential part of our commitment to supporting aspiring filmmakers and media professionals. Designed specifically for students enrolled in our accredited Lab 1: Certificate in Film Production and accredited Lab 2: Certificate in Television Production, our bursaries provide significant financial relief and encouragement to those in need.

Bursary Award Criteria

To be considered for a bursary, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Age: Must be 18 years or older.

  2. Program Enrollment: Accepted and enrolled in one of our full-time programs.

  3. Essay Submission: A one-page essay detailing how receiving a bursary will assist in achieving educational goals and how the program will help pave the way for future career prospects.

  4. Financial Assessment: Submission of the WFI Financial Assessment form, demonstrating financial need.

Award Amount

Successful applicants may receive bursaries worth $10,000 to go towards tuition fees.

Conditions and Revocation

Bursaries can be revoked if the recipient:

  • Discontinues full-time enrollment.

  • Exhibits poor attendance during each module.

  • Fails to meet the WFI standard of 70% in each module.

Should a bursary be revoked, the participant retains the right to appeal the decision in the presence of extenuating circumstances affecting their ability to continue studies. Extenuating circumstances must be unexpected, beyond the student's control, and supported by proper documentation.

Payment Plans

Understanding that financial circumstances vary, we offer customized payment plans to ease the burden of tuition fees. Spread your costs over manageable installments and choose a plan that aligns with your budget.
